I personally started on answering StackOverflow's questions just for the purpose of being useful to other programmers like me. https://stackoverflow.com/users/2768318/gaetano-piazzolla

Then I discovered Medium which has opened me the doors of being a tech-blogger without the need of building a website and caring about search engine optimization and stuff like that, which I find extremely boring.

Lately, I've reached 10K views/month, and I can say that I'm very proud of my achievement.

To push further your comfort zone means also going against lots of criticism from peers and from strangers. And that was for me the most difficult part. I didn't want to be criticized... I didn't want to deal with people that just comment on your work with the only purpose of making you feel bad.

I had to pass through a lot of that s**t to the point that now I don't longer grant them any power of changing my behavior. But I don't ignore them, I simply read them, and sometimes I learn valuable lessons, sometimes I just throw them into my mental paper disposer.

I loved your article, keep it up.

Gaetano
